David Millar, Fluorescence Spectroscopy Core

David Millar’s group develops and applies a variety of advanced fluorescence spectroscopic techniques, including fast time-resolved and single-molecule methods, in studies of RNA folding, ribonucleoprotein assembly and nucleic acid-protein interactions. The Millar group has used these methods to characterize the structural dynamics of the HIV-1 Rev protein, to probe the overall architecture of the Rev Response Element (RRE) and to dissect the assembly mechanism of oligomeric Rev-RRE complexes.
