Greg Voth received his Ph.D. from Caltech under the supervision of Rudy Marcus, and carried out his postdoctoral training at UC Berkeley with an IBM Postdoctoral Fellowship under the supervision of David Chandler and Bill Miller. His group has extensive experience in the theory and simulation of condensed phase and biomolecular systems, including pioneering development of coarse-graining and multiscale simulation methods. Recent work in this area includes coarse-grained studies of actin filaments and membranes. These new computational methods will enable studies of a wide variety of biological systems, including virial capsids, nucleic acids, proteins and protein complexes, amyloid peptides, carbohydrates, and lipids.
