In collaboration with Michael Kay and his lab, Debbie studies the HIV entry pathway and develops inhibitors that target a transient viral intermediate of membrane fusion. Debbie is particularly interested in expanding what we have learned about HIV entry and its vulnerabilities into developing entry inhibitors of other viral families such as filoviruses and paramyxoviruses.  Debbie has over 18 years of experience in the field of protein interactions, including biophysical and structural methods.
