Janet Iwasa uses 3D animation software to create accurate and dynamic visualizations of molecular and cellular hypotheses.  These animations are used to describe scientific concepts to a wide variety of audiences, from researchers to the general public.   In collaboration with CHEETAH and its sister centers, Iwasa is currently developing an animation showing the full life cycle of HIV.  The goal of this project, called the Science of HIV, is to inform and educate diverse audiences on our current understanding of how HIV is able to invade and infect human cells.
